At 13 years old I came in contact with HipHop, rap and poetry. My first song was written about the bullies in school. The first song I wrote that gained traction was “Early”, written at 15 years old. After Early i was invited to perform for 300 people in TRAX, Roeselare, my hometown. I stumbled over a drumset in the midst of my performance… That was the first and last show I did for years. At 18 years old I was producing and studying fulltime in Ghent, Belgium.
After a lot of experimentation in Ghent, I wanted to take things more seriously. Wurriversal got founded at 21 years old. We made a studio in the garden shed of my parents together with my friends. Some still call it the most legendary studio they’ve ever been at. Here we started taking our production, artist management and marketing very seriously. This is the era where Arezki, Izzy and Ouzi joined the roster.
After 2 years in the legendary shed, I had to head back to Ghent for a creative environment that inspired me. For 2 years I went deep into producing, playing instruments and songwriting on my own. My whole life my dad tried to convince me to play guitar but it took 1 feature song with Arezki to finally convince me to start playing guitar. Since January 2024 i’ve been making originals on my dads old guitar.
I moved back to Roeselare to reconnect with family and friends and to organise events. After a couple of sold out events like RSL Jam, RSL Jazz, Volta, Showdown, … Warre & TJ WEST founded #AFROTON. While focusing on my personal (acoustic) career in music, I DJ for fun and produce trap, amapiano, afrobeat, pop, reggaeton, … for artists like Chris Lobanzo, Andy Roques, Manzo, Migi Sosa & many many more.
